The physical and mental fitness of humans can be enhanced or empowered by sports. We Shri Ananda Kalpha Foundation identified the potential importance of sitting volleyball at the world level and setting foot for India at the international level. Sitting volleyball was introduced in the Netherlands by the Dutch Sport Committee in 1956 as a rehabilitation sport for injured soldiers.
Our foundation, associated with the Tamil Nadu Paralympic volleyball association and the Department of Physical Education- Bharathiyar University, organized the 7th state-level sitting volleyball competition on December 22, 2019, for encouraging players and creating awareness about the sports among the enthusiasts.
The Sportsmen from 12 districts dynamically participated and taught us the spirit of never giving up. Every game was much real, and the player's tone was classy, unmatchable, and was very optimistic in their approach. All the matches ended with a close fight. At last, the day belongs to the better performers.
To elevate our state-level competitors to world-class, international dignitaries such as the President, Secretary of the Para Volleyball Association of Malaysia, and World Para Volleyball Classifier call upon congratulating the winners. Our athletes were praised and hailed for their efforts, and they vowed to put them on international platforms in the future. Thank you to everyone who supported making the event a success.
