The Shri Anandha Kalpha Foundation organized the Coimbatore Marathon 2017 with the theme "Run to Save a Life" to raise awareness about the importance of a plastic-free environment. There will be no single-use plastics used in the marathon race, all the plates, silverware, and food portions were of biodegradable materials.
Our volunteer medical teams gave short training demos in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in numerous public venues, schools, and colleges in the run-up to the marathon. The funds generated from this marathon served the purpose of the infrastructure, education, and hygiene of the government schools in and around Coimbatore, which will benefit over 500 pupils.
Our founder, the key player, and is the yoga instructor, Dr. S. Easwaran, inspired volunteers and locals to participate in this marathon. We hope that in each person who joins us on Sunday, the desire to live in a clean and safe environment and stay healthy will stay strong.
The general message from this Coimbatore Marathon is to be a hero and to save lives. After finishing the marathon, each participant will get a complimentary sapling in addition to all of the other gifts, certifications, and medals. As a part of our green campaign, we will also hand out seed balls to guests.
